Pearls of Wisdom 330

1. Fools exult in life while the pious prepare for the journey ahead. A major portion of their wealth is spent in God's way, and they themselves suffice with the bare minimum, striving toward the hereafter. They even sacrifice fine victuals confident in the faith that they shall be blessed with better in the hereafter. Even God cherishes them because of their conviction and devotion.  read more »

To tattle tale is an enormity....

Rasul Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wasallam) said: “He who stirs enmity among people, by quoting their words to each other, will not enter Paradise.” [Bukhari]

Unfortunately, this is a common social evil these days. Rather than mend relations among people, Shaytaan has us excited about carrying tales to each other. “You won’t believe what he did!...Can you imagine what she said?...”  read more »

1. Surrender yourselves before God in the manner of the devout saints; then God will hold you just as dearly as He did the devout who went before you. Therefore follow His commandments and bear every affliction with patience. Adhere consciously for this was the  path chosen by the sages, the path that will lead you to the ultimate freedom.  read more »

Story worth reading....

There was once a little boy who had a bad temper. His Father gave him a bag of nails and told him that every time he lost his temper, he must hammer a nail into the back of the fence.

The first day the boy had driven 37 nails into the fence. Over the next few weeks, as he learned to control his anger, the number of nails hammered daily gradually dwindled down.
...
He discovered that it was easier to hold his temper than to drive those nails into the fence.

Finally the day came when the boy didn't lose his temper at all.  read more »

Ayahs of the day:
And those who remember God and seek forgiveness for their sins if they have done something shameful or wronged themselves -- and who forgives sins but God? -- and those who do not knowingly persist obstinately in what they have done. Their reward is forgiveness from their Lord, and gardens with rivers flowing below them, where they are to abide; and how gracious the reward for workers! [3: 135,136]

Hadith of the day:
The upper hand (the one that gives) is better than the lower (the one that receives). [Bukhari]  read more »

Broken hearts -- an opportunity for soul searching....

1. We need to realize that we are created only for Allah Most High. To have our hearts broken is a reminder that it is Allah Alone Who should be our objective in life.

2. Broken hearts is a test of our taqwa (God consciousness) to Allah Most High. Unless we are tested, we will not know if we truly and genuinely dedicate ourselves to Allah Most High, and  if we are accepting His Qada and Qadr (divine decree).  read more »

Pearls of Wisdom 328

1. Abu Bakr al-Siddiq once said, "This world is transitory and our life therein but a moment borrowed, our breaths numbered, yet our indifference reckless."

2. Being observant of God is an act of devotion toward God. Sleep is an act of God drawing us near. That which is conferred upon us by God without our choice is positively superior to that which we send to Him. Sleep therefore is a wonderful gift of God bestowed upon His creatures.  read more »

A new born's conversation with God....

A baby asked God, "They tell me You are sending me to earth tomorrow,
but how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?"

God said, "Your angel will be waiting for you and will take care of you."

The child further inquired, "But tell me, here in heaven I don't have
to do anything but sing and smile to be happy."

God said, "Your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you.
And you will feel your angel's love and be very happy."

Again the small child asked, "And how am I going to be able to  read more »
